Led by museum educators, Summerscapes are stimulating mini-camps that inspire children's creativity. Each of the five-day sessions begins with an exploration of the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright building, permanent collection, and special exhibitions. Then students go to the art studio for hands-on projects that are carefully designed to accommodate all artistic abilities. Campers will have the chance to work on individual and collaborative projects and to experiment with everything from painting and sculpture to printmaking and collage. They will also enjoy an exciting collaboration with other campers and staff from the Cooper Hewitt Museum. Summerscapes concludes with a mini exhibition so children can share their creations with family and friends.
Students must be ages 8-11 to participate.
